Antiquorum will headline its Monaco Important Modern & Vintage Timepieces Sale on Friday 12 December with one of the most significant Rolex lots to appear on the market in recent years: the top replica Rolex Daytona Paul Newman Ref. 6241 watches in 14k yellow gold. The watch (Lot 181) carries an opening bid of €550,000 and is expected to reach up to €1 million.
The Paul Newman Daytona 6241 is one of the most recognisable and sought-after vintage chronographs in the world. Produced from the late 1960s to the early 1970s, it is defined by its exotic dial featuring bold contrasting colours, Art Deco numerals and a racing-inspired layout – propelled to true icon status thanks to the legendary actor and racing driver that owned it.
What makes Lot 181 especially important is its configuration and provenance. The buy fake watches features a champagne dial with all original tritium lume plots and matching hands, preserved in exceptional condition, as you’d expect for that price tag.
Crafted from solid 14k yellow gold and paired with its original 14k gold bracelet – a combination rarely seen – it arrives at auction as the first gold Paul Newman Daytona ever offered by an authorised AAA replica Rolex watches retailer under the Certified Pre-Owned programme. It also marks the highest-value Rolex to enter the CPO scheme to date.
The auction house notes that this example represents a milestone moment for Rolex’s stewardship of its vintage legacy, bringing official certification to one of the most coveted vintage configurations.
The Monaco auction includes a total of 181 lots, including other noteworthy cheap fake Rolex watches, including a 1959 GMT-Master Ref. 6542 in 18k yellow gold (estimate €80,000 to €120,000), and a stainless-steel Daytona Ref. 6263 with a Mk2 “Oyster Paul Newman” dial (estimate €350,000 – €700,000).
