Swiss replica Rolex watches signed by the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos will hit the auction block next month.
The rare timepiece is part of Magnificent September Auction 2025, which will be held at 2 p.m. on September 13, Saturday, at Leon Gallery in Makati City.
Made in 18k yellow gold, the buy fake Rolex Day-Date watches has an engraved signature of Marcos on its case back.
According to Leon Gallery, the best copy Rolex watches came from the personal collection of the late president’s close confidant who helped him plan Martial Law from 1972 to 1981.
The gallery spoke of the rumored “Rolex 12,” a group of military and civilian advisers who were supposedly gifted watches by Marcos himself.
“The cheap super clone Rolex watches features the engraved signature of former President Ferdinand E. Marcos, given to a trusted and loyal confidant during the time when the ‘Rolex 12’ became a symbol of power and inner-circle membership within the Marcos administration as the authors of Martial Law,” read a write-up on Leon Gallery’s website.
“This group, made up of close associates and high-ranking officials, received similar timepieces as a sign of their loyalty and shared influence,” it noted.
The signed 1:1 replica Rolex watches does not come with an original box and papers, and has a starting price of P900,000.
Leon Gallery sees it as not just as a luxury item, but also a “tangible piece of Philippine history, serving as a powerful and moving reminder of a complex and turbulent era.”
Other items featured in Magnificent September Auction 2025 include a first edition copy of Jose Rizal’s “Noli Me Tangere” signed by the national hero himself (starting price of P4 million), and a 10th-13th century dagger with a gold hilt from Butuan in Mindanao (starting price of P1.2 million), to name a few.
Also up for auction are works by celebrated Filipino artists such as Elmer Borlongan, Jose Joya, Fernando Amorsolo, Anita Magsaysay-Ho, Arturo Luz, Ramon Orlina, and Vicente Manansala.
